“Being one of the largest and more diverse countries in the world, India is just gradually achieving its potential as a tourism destination,” claims Peter Vazan, executive vice president of industry relations, Trevolution Group.
According to a report by Adara, India’s travel and aviation sectors have bounced back faster than expected post-pandemic, with metasearch engines emerging as the leading channel for travel bookings.
“Thanks to the significant demand for travel between the US and India, which is primarily driven by the 4.5 million Indians living in the U.S., we have focused on entering and securing our position in the Indian market,” says Peter Vazan.
Trevolution Group’s figures reveal that over 75,000 tickets to and from India were sold from the U.S. in 2022, registering an increase of 432 percent compared to 2021. The top Indian destinations from the US airports were Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, and Chennai. Most passengers originated from New York, San Francisco, Chicago, Washington, and Dallas. The average round-trip economy ticket between the U.S. and India was priced at $1,400.
