Travel Expert’s Safety Tips for Solo Adventurers

April 28, 2023

Mia Williams, a former flight attendant, coined the term “solo honeymoon” when she decided to embark on a solo trip after waiting years to find a partner to travel with.

While on her solo honeymoon, Williams learned to be in a relationship with herself and found joy in the experience. However, traveling alone can be daunting, stressful, and even unsafe.

Mercedes Zach, a travel expert at AsapTickets, advises prioritizing safety as the number one thing to take care of when traveling solo to other countries and continents. He suggests doing extra research to stay in safe neighborhoods, being aware of surroundings, and gathering information on where to seek help in case something unexpected happens.

Zach notes that those who go on adventures alone are usually not scared of loneliness, but in case they feel like meeting other people while on the road, staying at hostels is a perfect place to socialize with other solo travelers.

He also suggests sharing travel plans with family and friends so that someone from home can trace your whereabouts and provide you with support. This is especially important if you are a young or female solo traveler as it adds an extra layer of security.

Overall, traveling solo can be an enriching and life-changing experience, but it’s important to prioritize safety and stay vigilant.
