She said that four-star hotels in the city center cost less than $355 for a three-night stay, with budget options available for under $76 per night. Plus, “you can easily hop on a train and be in Cologne’s city centre in just half an hour.” Bielckus revealed an unexpected gem: “If you can’t choose between a ski adventure or heading off on a city getaway, then you need to keep Batumi in the cards.” Five-star hotels cost less than $76 for three nights, and nearby Goderdzi offers ski passes for just $11 – a fraction of Western resort prices.

“The northern lights appear about 200 nights per year,” said Mercedes Zach of ASAP Tickets.
