Trevolution, a travel division of Dyninno Group with over two decades of industry experience, has announced its commercial results for 2024, showcasing remarkable growth in travel demand to India. A total of over 110,140 airline tickets to and from India have been sold across traditional leisure tourism, business travel, as well as the emerging Visiting Friends and Relatives (VFR) segment last year, resulting in more than 140 million USD in gross bookings. Meanwhile, the Group’s total gross bookings surpassed $1.2 billion, marking 2024 a year of record growth globally.
Key 2024 Highlights:
Historically, India has been a top travel choice for the Group’s air passengers, and throughout 2024, the demand for transpacific flights coming to the country increased by one-fifth (20.5%). However, outbound tourism sector was the one showing the highest surge going up significantly by 42.5% last year, which indicates the country’s progressive economic boom and stability. At the same time, domestic travel has soared, with a remarkable 330% increase in flights within India compared to 2023. Family-friendly destinations, adventure and spiritual trips, cultural tours, as well as extended weekend getaways are gaining significant traction, driving growth in the local tourism sector.
According to Trevolution Group’s commercial data, most foreign visitors coming to India in 2024 originated from the United States and Canada. Similarly to the previous sales period, the top three departure cities remained New York, San Francisco and Chicago, with Air India, Quatar Airways and Etihad Airways being the most popular air carriers of choice. Improved flight connectivity drove more travelers to India, with Hyderabad seeing the highest growth. Travel from India saw strong growth across all cabin classes last year, with Economy class leading demand. A total of 93,276 Economy tickets were sold, generating $81.5 million (57.85% of gross bookings), reflecting a 48% surge in outbound bookings and a 23% rise in inbound sales. Business class demand grew at a slower pace, with 16,865 tickets sold, generating $59.28 million.
In 2024, round trips made up 70.2% of tickets to India, down from 78.9% in 2023. Meanwhile, one-way tickets accounted for 71.4% of bookings (up 6.6% from 2023) as more travelers opt for long-term stays abroad. As the airline industry returns to its pre-pandemic capacity and jet fuel prices remain steady, the global airfare increase has been slowing down, making international travel more accessible. According to the Group’s latest data, 29.47% of travelers to India in 2024 booked flights over 90 days in advance, down 3% from last year. Meanwhile, 17.87% of inbound flights were purchased within 10 days (up from 13.6%), and 35.9% secured tickets within a month (up from 31.2%), reflecting a rise in last-minute bookings alongside growing travel confidence. Air passengers originating from India are booking later, with less than 16% purchasing tickets over three months in advance (down from 19.3% in 2023). Instead, over one-fourth of customers secured their trips up to 10 days in advance, showing a slight 2% increase in last-minute bookings from 2023. “With a 25% surge in ticket sales and a record-breaking $140 million in gross bookings, India remains one of our most dynamic markets; the growth that Trevolution group has seen in travel to and from India shows its increasing global mobility. We also see a growing demand for business class air tickets to India, with a notable 9% increase over the past two months alone. This shift signals that travelers are prioritizing comfort more than ever, and we are committed to meeting this rising demand for corporate travel. As the industry stabilizes, we remain focused on enhancing our offerings to cater to both business and leisure travelers, further solidifying our position as a global travel leader,” commented Alex Weinstein, founder of Dyninno Group of Companies.
