The Philippines Sets New Records as Trevolution Group’s Top Performing Market

Trevolution Group, the global travel industry leader operating ASAP Tickets, Skylux Travel, Oojo, Triplicity, Dreamport, and other major travel brands, has announced a stable 10% growth in flight sales across the Philippines during the first half of 2024, repeatedly highlighting this robust market as one of the leading travel destinations for international airline passengers. A total of over 90,000 airline tickets have been sold across traditional leisure tourism, as well as the emerging visiting-friends-and-relatives (VFR) segment, resulting in more than 120 million USD in gross bookings, or almost 20% of the company’s overall gross profit during the six months period of the current year.

  • Gross travel bookings, which refers to the total dollar value, generally inclusive of taxes and fees, amounted to 120.62 million USD, accounting for 19.8% of the Group’s total gross profit;
  • The number of unique tickets issued reached 90,181, increasing by 9.6% vs. H1 2023;
  • Economy class constituted 98.5% of all flight bookings and went up in demand by 9.6%;
  • The share of round-trip tickets increased by 2.5% and amounted to 79.7% of all tickets sold.

Historically, the Philippines has been a top travel choice for the Group’s air passengers, and currently, the demand for transpacific flights departing from the country is also growing significantly and surpassing the levels seen before the pandemic. Thus, in the first six months of 2024, Trevolution Group has reported a 48.3% increase in outbound tourism compared to the same travel period last year, which indicates the market’s rapid recovery and progressive economic growth. Today, more Filipino travelers choose foreign destinations that are closer to home or prefer to travel domestically showing almost a threefold increase in flights taken across the country compared to the first half of 2023. Family-friendly destinations and extended weekend trips are stealing the spotlight while simultaneously boosting the local tourism sector.

According to the Philippines Department of Tourism (DOT), the country received over 3.32M international visitor arrivals from January to July of this year with over 15% increase from the same travel period in 2023. As a result of constantly improving travel infrastructure and connectivity, as well as the active promotional campaign efforts, DOT sees a positive trajectory for the country’s international tourist arrivals, and the Philippines travel sector is set to break new records by the end of the year.

According to ticket sales from the Philippines, air passengers tend to do more last-minute decisions and, therefore, only less than one-third of all travelers buy their tickets over three months in advance compared to almost the same 26% share in the first half of last year, while almost 15% choose to do it up to 10 days in advance showing a slight 3% increase in last-minute bookings from H1 of 2023.

“Our objectives for the Philippines this year are very ambitious – we are now focusing on a local expansion and active hiring, expecting to gain over a thousand people in Cebu and over 500 in Manilla. To provide more value for the market, we are now working on offering our travel products to the local clientele, including introduction of the financial options to help finance air travel. Additionally, our team is excited to launch a new product, the all-in-one travel super-app Dreampass, designed to further enhance customer engagement,” commented Alex Weinstein, founder of Dyninno Group of Companies.

Trevolution Group, which operates International Travel Network, ASAP Tickets, Skylux Travel, Dreamport, Oojo, and other travel brands, has established itself as the market leader in the travel business, specializing in the visiting friends and relatives’ segment. Over 840,000 unique airline tickets and vacation packages were sold by the companies under the Trevolution Group brand in 2023, making it the fourth-largest airline ticket consolidator in the US.

Trevolution Group, the global travel industry leader operating ASAP Tickets, Skylux Travel, Oojo, Triplicity, Dreamport, and other major travel brands, reports selling over 54,000 airline tickets to and from India in the first half of 2024, indicating a 46% growth across the market compared to the same period last year. The numbers position India as the top travel destination for international airline passengers in both traditional leisure tourism and visiting-friends-and-relatives (VFR) segment.

  • Gross travel bookings, which refers to the total dollar value, generally inclusive of taxes and fees, amounted to 64.46 million USD, indicating a 3% increase comparing to the first six months of 2023 and account for 10.1% of the Group’s total gross profit;

  • Economy class constituted 88.7% of all flight bookings and went up in demand by 50.6%;
  • The share of round-trip tickets increased by 11% and amounted to 54.6% of all tickets sold.

For years, India has been a popular hotspot for international travelers and currently, the demand for transpacific flights has soared well above pre-pandemic levels. With growing travel confidence and economic development, outbound tourism has risen significantly.

Increased flight connectivity is driving more international travelers to India, with Hyderabad, alongside Delhi and Mumbai, showing a rapid 31% growth from H1 in 2023. Trevolution Group’s latest business results show that during the past six months Hyderabad contributed to 15% of the total flight tickets sold to and from the largest airports across India.

“India remains a key market for Trevolution Group, consistently demonstrating strong growth in air travel year after year. It was also one of the first markets to rebound to pre-pandemic levels by 2021. With the Indian government’s objectives to boost tourism, as highlighted in the Union Budget, we anticipate even stronger growth in air travel to and from the region in the coming years,” Alex Weinstein, the Founder of Dyninno Group commented.

Trevolution Group, the global travel industry leader operating ASAP Tickets, Skylux Travel, Oojo, Triplicity, Dreamport, and other major travel brands, has reported commercial results for the first half of 2024, yet again surpassing record high volumes in airfare sales. During the first six months of 2024, the Group’s total gross bookings reached close to 639 million USD, stemming from over 510,000 sold tickets across its travel brands. This indicates a 20% increase in processed ticket volumes compared to the same sales period last year and a major 129% growth in comparison to the pre-pandemic years. Along with strengthening its corporate travel management segment and introducing Dreampass, a new generation travel super-app, Trevolution Group rapidly continues its global expansion with new advanced travel services launching in the second half of 2024.

  • Gross travel bookings, which refers to the total dollar value, generally inclusive of taxes and fees, amounted to 638.74 million USD, indicating a 6% increase compared to the six-month period in 2023;
  • The number of unique tickets issued reached 510,436, increasing by 20% vs. H1 2023;
  • Economy class has shown a stable increase, going up in demand by 22%;
  • The share of round-trip tickets amounted to 70% of all tickets sold;
  • The number of auxiliary products and services increased by nearly 26% vs. the first half of 2023.

Being a global travel market leader for over two decades, Trevolution Group has developed broad expertise in the Visiting Friends and Relatives (VFR) segment. The VFR form of travel is also strongly indicated by its most popular travel destinations, with the United States, India, the Philippines, Italy, and Nigeria being the top five most-visited countries so far this year. Compared to 2023, ticket sales to Italy have grown significantly, by 99%, and to India by almost 37%, while the US has shown a 24% growth, and Nigeria – another 17% increase, surpassing the United Kingdom, which was listed among the top five travel destinations in the same period last year. Likewise, Canada has emerged among the fastest-growing destination countries in the first half of 2024, with a rapid 90% increase in flights purchased by the Group’s international customers. A similar pattern was observed when defining the leading departure countries, where the United States, Canada, the Philippines, and India traditionally emerged among the most popular locations from which travelers flew.

Top Destination Countries  % of change H1 2024 vs. H1 2023
United States  24%

Similarly to the previous year, most air passengers, or 90%, chose to fly Economy class, and one in every 11 travelers flew Business class in the first half of 2024. In addition to this, round-trip was the most frequently selected trip type with an average of 2.3 times more tickets sold compared to one-way trips. It also indicated an almost 13% increase in sales, while the share of one-way tickets went up by over 45%. Also, along with the global inflation that is gradually slowing down, the average ticket price has decreased slightly during the first six months of this year, with Economy class showing a 13% fall compared to last year, and Business class remaining at almost the same level where travelers are less sensitive to airfare fluctuation. Meanwhile, United Airlines, Turkish Airlines, Philippines Airlines, American Airlines, and Qatar Airways were the most-used air travel providers that Trevolution Group’s customers gave preference to in the first six months of 2024. However, Lufthansa and British Airways showed the most significant increase in global flight sales, surging by 99% and 73.5% vs. H1 of 2023.

Airfare Ticket Type  H1 2024 vs. H1 2023
Economy Class  22%

According to the latest sales data, along with the returning travel confidence, the average advance purchase period continues to increase to the pre-pandemic levels when travelers would plan their trips further ahead in order to secure better deals. Thus, in the first half of 2024, almost one-third of airline passengers booked their flights over three months in advance, compared to 19% back in 2022 and 49% in 2019. Meanwhile, only 16% chose to secure their travel plans up to 10 days ahead, almost 10% bought airfare tickets 11 to 20 days in advance, and another 8.5% purchased their tickets 20 days up to a month in advance, showing a similar travel-booking pattern to the first six months of 2023 where one-third of the flights were booked over 90 days in advance and another 33% were last-minute bookings up to 30 days prior to departure. Meanwhile, the average length of stay abroad has decreased by 1.5 days in H1 of 2024 vs. 2023, with 25.5 days being the average period customers currently spend abroad enjoying leisure tourism or visiting their friends and relatives.

0-10   16%
11-20   10%

 “Despite the global economy struggles, we have experienced a stable 20% increase in ticket volumes and have surpassed not only last year’s figures but also the pre-pandemic levels. As we continue to develop and improve our extensive travel product portfolio to increase customer satisfaction, we are now focusing our efforts on presenting a new, exciting product to the market – an all-in-one travel super-app Dreampass that will enhance customer engagement even more,” Alex Weinstein, the founder of Dyninno Group of Companies commented.

India Named the Top-Performing Market for Attracting Independent Travel Managers

Trevolution Group, the global travel industry leader operating ASAP Tickets, Skylux Travel, Oojo, Triplicity, and other major travel brands, has reported a soaring number of registrations on its Independent Travel Manager platform Dreamport. The innovative digital platform was launched back in April of 2023, and during the first year of operations, over a total of 187,500 freelancers from different parts of the world signed up on Dreamport to pursue their business in the travel industry. India, Moldova, and Uzbekistan were strategically chosen as the first launch markets for the platform, and by the end of this year, it is about to be launched across several other new locations to empower and unite aspiring Independent Travel Managers.

Over 183,500 ticketing requests were processed, and more than 30,000 flights to 851 destinations were sold with the assistance and facilitation of Dreamport’s Independent Travel Managers, the majority of which are based in India. As a result, close to seven million USD in gross booking revenue was generated within the past year. The United States and Canada were the top locations most travelers departed from, with Nigeria, India, the Philippines, Ghana, and Italy being among the most popular international destinations for traditional leisure tourism, as well as the emerging visiting-friends-and-relatives segment.

Developed as a comprehensive consolidating platform that allows freelancers to get contracted as Independent Travel Managers, Dreamport makes earning income in the travel industry accessible while tackling unemployment issues among young adults. It is set to transform the global travel market by offering a unique online platform for motivated individuals to grow their own freelance travel business by servicing industry customers fully remotely. Dreamport provides an all-inclusive, free training program covering various topics from marketing and customer service to travel industry standards and digital tools. The main responsibilities of an Independent Travel Manager include providing customer service and finding the best travel routes, international airfare tickets and auxiliary products.

“One of the main reasons I decided to join Dreamport with no previous experience in the travel industry was the flexibility it offers to its Independent Travel Managers coming from different areas across the country. You can plan your own time while learning and making sufficient income which is not something many local companies can provide. In less than a year of freelancing as an Independent Travel Manager, I was able to rapidly develop my expertise, which allowed me to successfully transition into new freelance opportunities and increase my income. If you are dedicated, patient, and hardworking, your effort always gets noticed, and great opportunities arise. Why not take advantage of the modern-day tools and platforms such as Dreamport that are available for us all out there?” says Priyanka Vankamimidi, Dreamport’s Quality Management Lead from India.

Dreamport is currently accepting new applications for its Independent Travel Manager program. Interested individuals from anywhere in India, Moldova, and Uzbekistan are invited to visit the Dreamport website to learn more about the program and sign up for free: https://www.dreamport.me/.

Trevolution Group Reports Record Airfare Sales Results in the Philippines

Trevolution Group, the global market leader operating Asap Tickets Skylux Travel, Dreamport, Oojo and other travel brands, has announced commercial results for 2023 with record sales for its travel operations across the Philippines. Reported business data indicate a stable 10% market growth and highlight the Philippines as one of the leading travel destinations for international airline passengers across the traditional leisure tourism and the emerging visiting-friends-and-relatives (VFR) segment. Over 155,000 flight tickets have been sold to and from the country’s main airports, resulting in over 234 million USD in gross bookings or 20% of the company’s overall gross profit during the past year since launching direct ticketing operations in the Philippines’ market.

The Philippines has historically been one of the most popular travel destinations for international and especially American passengers, and today, the growing demand for transpacific flights is strongly exceeding pre-pandemic volumes. Thus, last year Trevolution Group has reported a significant 51% increase in outbound tourism compared to 2022, which indicates this market’s rapid recovery and progressive economic growth. The past year has been the busiest travel period up to date, and 2024 is predicted to show the same pattern marking it as the year of largest boom across the Philippines’ tourism segment with anticipated 7.7 million foreign visitors.

According to the Philippines Department of Tourism (DOT), the country’s tourism industry welcomed more than 5 million international visitors throughout 2023, with 92% foreigners and the remaining 8% being overseas Filipinos who fall into the VFR tourism segment. The new record is by around 650,000 international visitors higher than its target of 4.8 million that were projected to visit the country for the entire year. That indicates that the country’s tourism industry is recovering faster than expected, and the Trevolution Group’s travel businesses are a significant contributor to the market’s record performance reintroducing The Philippines into the global tourism arena.

Class of Travel

Travel from the Philippines has seen a substantial increase in sales across all major cabin classes sold by Trevolution Group in 2023. That resulted in a high 56% increase in flights booked from the country’s main airports in Economy class and a 48% growth in Business class compared to the previous year’s data. Meanwhile, the demand for inbound Economy tickets has increased by 4% and by 43% in Business class indicating the continuous return of business travel where the Philippines play a significant role in the global economy.

Additionally, 90% of all tickets purchased to the Philippines were round-trip tickets hence the significant share of the VFR tourism segment, while the amount of one-way tickets has stayed at nearly the same level and amounted to 10%, compared to almost 9% in 2022. The predominance of outbound return tickets, however, is slightly less distinct with a 40% share in 2023 and 38% last year accentuating the gradual return of leisure tourism across this region.

Booking Window and Terms

Almost one half or 47.6% of all global travellers flying to the Philippines during 2023 purchased their tickets more than 90 days prior the departure date. The year before, however, this number was slightly lower with 43.6% of airline passengers booking their flights over three months in advance. This indicates that the travel industry has now finally recovered, and the travel sales show an increasing pattern of people making their travel plans further ahead, especially when it comes to VFR travel. Only 9.1% of all inbound flight tickets were purchased up to 10 days before the trip in 2023 vs. 8.7% in 2022, while 5.7% of all passengers would secure their flights up to 20 days in advance and 5.8% of them choose to do it up to a month ahead both in 2023 and back in 2022.

Inbound Advance Purchase Days   % of Total Tickets in 2023
0-10    9.1%
11-20    5.7%
21-30  5.8%
91+  47.6%

Meanwhile, according to ticket sales from the Philippines, passengers tend to do more last-minute decisions and, therefore, less than one-fourth or 24.7% of all travellers bought their tickets over three months in advance (vs. 13.8% in 2022), while 13.4% choose to do it up to 10 days in advance compared to 15.2% in 2022.

Destinations

According to the Group’s recent sales data, the majority of foreign visitors coming to the Philippines in 2023 originated from the United States, Canada, as well as Japan, Thailand and Singapore, following the last year’s pattern and choosing Manila as the main arrival and departure airport. Manila contributed to 76.54% of the total flight tickets booked to the Philippines and 81.21% of the total flights sold from the county’s largest airports (vs. 80.45% and 84.40% in 2022) with Cebu also growing in popularity over the last year. Similarly, the top five departure cities to the Philippines remained Los Angeles, San Francisco and New York, followed by Toronto and Chicago, with Philippine Airlines, EVA Air, China Airlines and Korean Air being the most popular air carriers.

Top Destination Cities   % of All Tickets in 2023
Manila   76.54%
Cebu  10.04%

Top Departure Cities   % of All Tickets in 2023
Manila   81.21%
Cebu  9.63%

The majority of travellers starting their journey in the Philippines also flew to the same popular destinations including the United States, Canada, Japan, Singapore, Thailand, as well as within the country.

“Historically, the Philippines has consistently ranked among our top travel destinations, and after launching direct ticketing operations in this market, I’m pleased to observe the rising interest in the VFR tourism. In fact, in 2023 alone, we saw a 15% increase in bookings from the expanding Filipino community residing in the US. Looking ahead to 2024, we anticipate further growth in this segment, particularly with the introduction of our upcoming initiative: a comprehensive travel app that will centralize all our travel products and services, promising maximum convenience and comfort for our customers. Additionally, we are dedicated to establishing a new corporate travel vertical, called Triplicity, recognizing the need for tailored solutions in this sector,” Alex Weinstein, the Founder of Dyninno Group commented.

From NYC to Chisinau: Trevolution Group Announces 2023 Results, Unveils Trends in USA – Moldova and Romania Routes

Trevolution Group, which incorporates ASAP Tickets, Skylux Travel, Dreamport, Oojo, and other travel brands, has announced the continued increase in its air ticket sales for the USA-Moldova and Romania routes. A significant increase in round-trip sales and advanced bookings were registered among these destinations.

In 2023, Trevolution clients exhibited an increased preference for round-trip tickets, with a 56% increase in such bookings for trips between the USA and Moldova/Romania in 2023 compared to the previous year.

Advanced booking trends revealed that the number of tickets purchased 91 or more days before the flights more than doubled in 2023. Additionally, there was an average increase of 37% in purchases between 51-90 days in advance compared to 2022, showing that travelers became more confident in planning their future trips.

The research showcases that on US-Romania flights, the one-way economy-class ticket experienced an average price increase of 22%, reaching $669. Meanwhile, for routes between the US and the Republic of Moldova, the same type of ticket cost $696, reflecting a 7% price drop compared to the previous year. The prices for round-trip economy-class tickets for US-Romania have seen a 13% increase, resulting in a $1122 average price. As for US-Moldova destinations round-trip tickets increased by only 1%, with an average cost of $1167.

At the same time, the average one-way business-class ticket for routes between the US and Moldova saw a 4% increase in 2023, equaling $1618, while for US-Romania routes one-way business-class tickets became 48% more expensive in 2023, with the cost of $3,533. The average prices for round-trip business class tickets for US-Moldova had a 3% increase with a cost of $3462 and saw a 15% increase for US-Romania destinations resulting in $3777, respectively.

According to the Trevolution Group’s internal research, in 2023, the most sought-after route among USA-Moldova and Romania destinations was the flight from Chicago to Chisinau. Chisinau, Bucharest, Cluj-Napoca, and Timisoara emerged as the top destinations for travelers between the USA and Moldova/Romania in 2023. The majority of passengers hailed from major cities, including Chicago, New York, Miami, Atlanta, Los Angeles, Washington, and San Francisco.

Group reports that in 2023, the top five preferred airlines for travel between the USA and Moldova/Romania were Turkish Airlines, LOT Polish Airlines, United Airlines, Lufthansa, and TAROM. Routes such as Chisinau – Washington, Chisinau – Atlanta, and Bucharest – New York experienced a notable increase in ticket sales, more than doubling in 2023 compared to 2022 results.

As Trevolution Group continues to prioritize customer satisfaction and enhance its services, these results reflect the effectiveness of the company’s dedication to providing reliable and convenient travel solutions.

In 2023, Trevolution Group achieved total gross bookings of over $1.1 billion, and sold over 840,000 tickets through its travel brands, marking a 16% growth in ticket sales compared to the previous year.

“In 2023, our travel vertical achieved over $1 billion in gross bookings,” stated Alex Weinstein, Founder of the Group. “I’m delighted to see the increasing number of clients choosing to fly to Romania and Moldova. We also employ customer service representatives from both Romania and Moldova, ensuring our travel specialists deeply understand our clients’ needs. Our devotion to excellence in customer service and diverse route options have contributed to these outstanding results.”

In an innovative move, in 2023 the company integrated New Distribution Capabilities (NDC) into its airline ticket distribution through a strategic partnership with AirGateway, a leading NDC aggregator. This innovation provides customers with instant access to customized travel content from over 15 global airlines, enhancing the booking experience and offering real-time information.

Trevolution Group Reports Record Numbers in Annual Airfare Sales

Trevolution Group, the global market leader operating ASAP Tickets, Skylux Travel, Dreamport, Oojo and other travel brands, has announced commercial results for 2023 with record volumes in airfare sales. Within last year, the Group’s total gross bookings reached a new milestone of over one billion USD, exceeding 2022 sales by 26% and resulting in over 843,000 unique tickets sold across economy and business class flights. Along with launching direct operations in the UK and the Philippines as well as strengthening its positions in already established markets, last year, Trevolution Group also implemented several new initiatives and innovations, from investing in regular sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) purchases to introducing NDC aggregated air travel services.

  • Gross travel bookings, which refers to the total dollar value, generally inclusive of taxes and fees, amounted to 1,174,540,000 USD, indicating a 26% increase from the previous year;
  • The number of unique tickets issued reached 843,486, increasing by 16% vs. 2022;
  • The share of one-way tickets amounted to 28% of all tickets sold and grew by 25%;
  • The number of auxiliary products and services increased by over 22% vs. last year.

For two decades, Trevolution Group has been a global travel market leader with extensive expertise in the Visiting Friends and Relatives (VFR) segment, which has shown strong growth in the past few years. It is also indicated it the Group’s most popular travel destinations, with the US, India, the Philippines, Nigeria, and Italy being the most frequently visited countries in 2023. Compared to the previous year, airfare sales to Italy have grown by 85% and to the United States by 40%, while Nigeria has shown a 17% growth. Meanwhile, China has emerged as the fastest-growing travel destination, exceeding 2022 flight sales by 89 times since fully reopening its borders to international visitors and gradually returning to the pre-pandemic tourism levels. A similar pattern was observed when defining leading departure countries where the United States, Canada, the Philippines and India also emerged among the top locations global travelers flew from.

Top Destination Countries  % of change 2023 vs. 2022
United States  40%
Philippines   4%
India  14%
Nigeria  17%
Italy   85%

Top Departure Countries  % of change 2023 vs. 2022
United States  15%
Canada   19
Philippines  56%
India  170%

Same as during the previous year, most passengers chose to fly Economy class, and one in every ten travelers flew Business class in 2023. In addition to that, round-trip was the most frequently selected trip type with an average of 2,5 times more tickets sold compared to one-way trips. It also indicated an 11% increase in sales, while the share of one-way tickets went up by 25%. Thus, it shows that today’s air passengers are more comfortable making last-minute plans and prefer having more freedom and flexibility with their VFR or leisure travel decisions.

Meanwhile, United Airlines, Turkish Airlines, American Airlines, Philippines Airlines and Qatar Airways were the most commonly used air travel companies Trevolution Group’s customers gave preference to throughout 2023. However, Air China showed the most significant increase in global ticket sales, which again points to the country’s tourism sector recovery.

Airfare Ticket Type  Ticket Change 2023 vs. 2022
Economy Class  14%
Business Class  31%

Trip Type  Ticket Change 2023 vs. 2022
One Way  25%
Round Trip  11%

According to the latest sales data, the average advance purchase period last year was returning to the pre-pandemic levels when people would plan their travel longer ahead. Thus, in 2023, 17% of airline passengers booked their flights up to 10 days in advance, while 10% chose to do it 11-20 days ahead and 9% bought their airfare tickets up to a month in advance. While only one fourth of all travelers purchased airline tickets over three months in advance back in 2022, last year almost 30% of them chose to secure their flights 90 and more days ahead.
