Trevolution Group to introduce NDC by early 2023

Trevolution Group partners with AirGateway, a world-leading NDC aggregator, which will provide access to aggregated NDC content of 25+ airlines, including several major airlines.

Trevolution Group, which operates International Travel Network (ITN), Asaptickets, Skyluxtravel, and other travel brands, announces the implementation of new distribution capabilities (NDC) in its airline ticket distribution. The company has signed a contract with the API provider AirGateway.

NDC is a travel industry standard used by airlines, aggregators, and travel sellers for distributing and selling flight content. It uses modern web technologies that allow consolidators to connect directly to the airline, which results in the ability for product differentiation, better personalization, transparency, and cost-cutting. While the traditionally used global distribution system (GDS) model only permits airlines to display prices and schedules, the NDC standard provides real-time information.

According to Peter Vazan, CEO of International Travel Network, part of Trevolution Group, NDC is the future of travel. “The benefits of using NDC content are clear – it allows for control, pricing, and inventory ability, and with NDC, we will be able to give real-time offers to passengers at a cheaper rate. This, however, requires significant infrastructure investment. We are ready to invest in the future.”

Trevolution Group partners with AirGateway, a world-leading NDC aggregator, which will provide access to aggregated NDC content of 25+ airlines, including several major airlines. “While doing so, by early 2023 we will be able to provide our clients with more customized offers. We estimate to facilitate over 180,000 bookings within the first year alone and aim to strategically grow our NDC portfolio,” Vazan added.

Jorge Díaz, CEO of AirGateway, commented: “We really think that due to the complex nature of the consolidation business, Trevolution Group will get full advantage of our platform’s technical capabilities as a next-gen NDC aggregator. Now that NDC is becoming a serious topic in the US market, this is a great way to start.”

Trevolution serves 100K US-PH passengers

The Trevolution Group, which operates International Travel Network (ITN), Asaptickets, Skyluxtravel, Aviajet, and other travel brands, sold 100,000 tickets on flights between the United States and the Philippines in the first ten months of 2022, ten percent more than during the same period in 2019 before the pandemic, the company announced.

Its ITN specializes in the visiting friends and relatives segment and sells over 70,000 air tickets per month, making it the fifth-largest consolidator in the US.

“This year we have improved our market share from the US to the Philippines as it grew by 5 percent compared to 2019,” according to Trevolution Group CEO Peter Vazan.

“Thanks to the significant Filipino community in North America, the Philippines has been our key market for many years now,” he noted. After the Philippines reopened its borders, “We see that the market has recovered from the pandemic, which is still ongoing in many parts of the world,” Vazan elaborated. Most passengers traveled to the Philippines from Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York, Chicago, and Seattle, according to Trevolution Group research.

Notably, the Philippines tops the list of countries where Trevolution customers booked flights, along with India, Nigeria, Italy and the United Kingdom. The company’s gross bookings globally have increased 63 percent in the first 9 months of 2022, versus the same period in 2019. But compared to the same period in 2021, the group’s gross bookings have soared 250 percent.

The Trevolution Group is part of the Dyninno Group, which provides products and services in the travel, finance, entertainment, and technology sectors in 50 countries.

Founded in 2004 in San Francisco by Alex Weinstein, it currently employs 4,000 professionals globally. “In the post-pandemic world the abilily to achieve the highest level of customer support has become of utmost importance,” stressed Vazan.

“Our new Trevolution brand aims to combine the human touch with innovative technologies to deliver effective and empathetic customer service. We aim to shape and evolve the travel industry,” the CEO concluded.

Flight Booking Price Increase Halts in August 2022

Trevolution Group ticket price data suggests that prices of bookings made in August have returned to 2019 levels. The previous time booking prices were on par with 2019 levels was in January.

Peter Vazan, CEO of Trevolution Group: “For most of 2022, we saw ticket prices for international flights in the US increase beyond pre-pandemic 2019 levels, mainly driven by pent-up demand and an increase in airline costs. The data signals at least a temporary stop in the booking price increase.”

The average price increase has been driven by several regions. For flights from the US to Europe or Africa, prices in August 2022 were still up by around 12-17% compared to August 2019, while Asia was still up 22%.

Trevolution Group focuses on agency sales of air tickets and travel services to both retail and corporate clients. It manages the brands ASAP Tickets, International Travel Network, as well as a number of online services and sells over 50,000 air tickets and package holidays every month.
