Trevolution Group Reports Record Airfare Sales Results in the Philippines

Trevolution Group, the global market leader operating Asap Tickets Skylux Travel, Dreamport, Oojo and other travel brands, has announced commercial results for 2023 with record sales for its travel operations across the Philippines. Reported business data indicate a stable 10% market growth and highlight the Philippines as one of the leading travel destinations for international airline passengers across the traditional leisure tourism and the emerging visiting-friends-and-relatives (VFR) segment. Over 155,000 flight tickets have been sold to and from the country’s main airports, resulting in over 234 million USD in gross bookings or 20% of the company’s overall gross profit during the past year since launching direct ticketing operations in the Philippines’ market.

The Philippines has historically been one of the most popular travel destinations for international and especially American passengers, and today, the growing demand for transpacific flights is strongly exceeding pre-pandemic volumes. Thus, last year Trevolution Group has reported a significant 51% increase in outbound tourism compared to 2022, which indicates this market’s rapid recovery and progressive economic growth. The past year has been the busiest travel period up to date, and 2024 is predicted to show the same pattern marking it as the year of largest boom across the Philippines’ tourism segment with anticipated 7.7 million foreign visitors.

According to the Philippines Department of Tourism (DOT), the country’s tourism industry welcomed more than 5 million international visitors throughout 2023, with 92% foreigners and the remaining 8% being overseas Filipinos who fall into the VFR tourism segment. The new record is by around 650,000 international visitors higher than its target of 4.8 million that were projected to visit the country for the entire year. That indicates that the country’s tourism industry is recovering faster than expected, and the Trevolution Group’s travel businesses are a significant contributor to the market’s record performance reintroducing The Philippines into the global tourism arena.

Class of Travel

Travel from the Philippines has seen a substantial increase in sales across all major cabin classes sold by Trevolution Group in 2023. That resulted in a high 56% increase in flights booked from the country’s main airports in Economy class and a 48% growth in Business class compared to the previous year’s data. Meanwhile, the demand for inbound Economy tickets has increased by 4% and by 43% in Business class indicating the continuous return of business travel where the Philippines play a significant role in the global economy.

Additionally, 90% of all tickets purchased to the Philippines were round-trip tickets hence the significant share of the VFR tourism segment, while the amount of one-way tickets has stayed at nearly the same level and amounted to 10%, compared to almost 9% in 2022. The predominance of outbound return tickets, however, is slightly less distinct with a 40% share in 2023 and 38% last year accentuating the gradual return of leisure tourism across this region.

Booking Window and Terms

Almost one half or 47.6% of all global travellers flying to the Philippines during 2023 purchased their tickets more than 90 days prior the departure date. The year before, however, this number was slightly lower with 43.6% of airline passengers booking their flights over three months in advance. This indicates that the travel industry has now finally recovered, and the travel sales show an increasing pattern of people making their travel plans further ahead, especially when it comes to VFR travel. Only 9.1% of all inbound flight tickets were purchased up to 10 days before the trip in 2023 vs. 8.7% in 2022, while 5.7% of all passengers would secure their flights up to 20 days in advance and 5.8% of them choose to do it up to a month ahead both in 2023 and back in 2022.

Inbound Advance Purchase Days   % of Total Tickets in 2023
0-10    9.1%
11-20    5.7%
21-30  5.8%
91+  47.6%

Meanwhile, according to ticket sales from the Philippines, passengers tend to do more last-minute decisions and, therefore, less than one-fourth or 24.7% of all travellers bought their tickets over three months in advance (vs. 13.8% in 2022), while 13.4% choose to do it up to 10 days in advance compared to 15.2% in 2022.

Destinations

According to the Group’s recent sales data, the majority of foreign visitors coming to the Philippines in 2023 originated from the United States, Canada, as well as Japan, Thailand and Singapore, following the last year’s pattern and choosing Manila as the main arrival and departure airport. Manila contributed to 76.54% of the total flight tickets booked to the Philippines and 81.21% of the total flights sold from the county’s largest airports (vs. 80.45% and 84.40% in 2022) with Cebu also growing in popularity over the last year. Similarly, the top five departure cities to the Philippines remained Los Angeles, San Francisco and New York, followed by Toronto and Chicago, with Philippine Airlines, EVA Air, China Airlines and Korean Air being the most popular air carriers.

Top Destination Cities   % of All Tickets in 2023
Manila   76.54%
Cebu  10.04%

Top Departure Cities   % of All Tickets in 2023
Manila   81.21%
Cebu  9.63%

The majority of travellers starting their journey in the Philippines also flew to the same popular destinations including the United States, Canada, Japan, Singapore, Thailand, as well as within the country.

“Historically, the Philippines has consistently ranked among our top travel destinations, and after launching direct ticketing operations in this market, I’m pleased to observe the rising interest in the VFR tourism. In fact, in 2023 alone, we saw a 15% increase in bookings from the expanding Filipino community residing in the US. Looking ahead to 2024, we anticipate further growth in this segment, particularly with the introduction of our upcoming initiative: a comprehensive travel app that will centralize all our travel products and services, promising maximum convenience and comfort for our customers. Additionally, we are dedicated to establishing a new corporate travel vertical, called Triplicity, recognizing the need for tailored solutions in this sector,” Alex Weinstein, the Founder of Dyninno Group commented.

Advanced booking trends revealed that the number of tickets purchased 91 or more days before the flights more than doubled in 2023. The prices for round-trip economy-class tickets for US-Romania have seen a 13% increase, resulting in a $1122 average price. As for US-Moldova destinations round-trip tickets increased by only 1%, with an average cost of $1167.

At the same time, the average one-way business-class ticket for routes between the US and Moldova saw a 4% increase in 2023, equaling $1618, while for US-Romania routes one-way business-class tickets became 48% more expensive in 2023, with the cost of $3,533. According to the Trevolution Group’s internal research, in 2023, the most sought-after route among USA-Moldova and Romania destinations was the flight from Chicago to Chisinau. Chisinau, Bucharest, Cluj-Napoca, and Timisoara emerged as the top destinations for travelers between the USA and Moldova/Romania in 2023. The majority of passengers hailed from major cities, including Chicago, New York, Miami, Atlanta, Los Angeles, Washington, and San Francisco.

Group reports that in 2023, the top five preferred airlines for travel between the USA and Moldova/Romania were Turkish Airlines, LOT Polish Airlines, United Airlines, Lufthansa, and TAROM. Routes such as Chisinau – Washington, Chisinau – Atlanta, and Bucharest – New York experienced a notable increase in ticket sales, more than doubling in 2023 compared to 2022 results.

As Trevolution Group continues to prioritize customer satisfaction and enhance its services, these results reflect the effectiveness of the company’s dedication to providing reliable and convenient travel solutions.

In 2023, Trevolution Group achieved total gross bookings of over $1.1 billion, and sold over 840,000 tickets through its travel brands, marking a 16% growth in ticket sales compared to the previous year.

“In 2023, our travel vertical achieved over $1 billion in gross bookings,” stated Alex Weinstein, Founder of the Group. “I’m delighted to see the increasing number of clients choosing to fly to Romania and Moldova. We also employ customer service representatives from both Romania and Moldova, ensuring our travel specialists deeply understand our clients’ needs. Our devotion to excellence in customer service and diverse route options have contributed to these outstanding results.”

In an innovative move, in 2023 the company integrated New Distribution Capabilities (NDC) into its airline ticket distribution through a strategic partnership with AirGateway, a leading NDC aggregator. This innovation provides customers with instant access to customized travel content from over 15 global airlines, enhancing the booking experience and offering real-time information.

Trevolution Group Reports Record Numbers in Annual Airfare Sales

Trevolution Group, the global market leader operating ASAP Tickets, Skylux Travel, Dreamport, Oojo and other travel brands, has announced commercial results for 2023 with record volumes in airfare sales. Within last year, the Group’s total gross bookings reached a new milestone of over one billion USD, exceeding 2022 sales by 26% and resulting in over 843,000 unique tickets sold across economy and business class flights. Along with launching direct operations in the UK and the Philippines as well as strengthening its positions in already established markets, last year, Trevolution Group also implemented several new initiatives and innovations, from investing in regular sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) purchases to introducing NDC aggregated air travel services.

  • Gross travel bookings, which refers to the total dollar value, generally inclusive of taxes and fees, amounted to 1,174,540,000 USD, indicating a 26% increase from the previous year;
  • The number of unique tickets issued reached 843,486, increasing by 16% vs. 2022;
  • The share of one-way tickets amounted to 28% of all tickets sold and grew by 25%;
  • The number of auxiliary products and services increased by over 22% vs. last year.

For two decades, Trevolution Group has been a global travel market leader with extensive expertise in the Visiting Friends and Relatives (VFR) segment, which has shown strong growth in the past few years. It is also indicated it the Group’s most popular travel destinations, with the US, India, the Philippines, Nigeria, and Italy being the most frequently visited countries in 2023. Compared to the previous year, airfare sales to Italy have grown by 85% and to the United States by 40%, while Nigeria has shown a 17% growth. Meanwhile, China has emerged as the fastest-growing travel destination, exceeding 2022 flight sales by 89 times since fully reopening its borders to international visitors and gradually returning to the pre-pandemic tourism levels. A similar pattern was observed when defining leading departure countries where the United States, Canada, the Philippines and India also emerged among the top locations global travelers flew from.

Top Destination Countries  % of change 2023 vs. 2022
United States  40%
Philippines   4%
India  14%
Nigeria  17%
Italy   85%

Top Departure Countries  % of change 2023 vs. 2022
United States  15%
Canada   19
Philippines  56%
India  170%

Same as during the previous year, most passengers chose to fly Economy class, and one in every ten travelers flew Business class in 2023. In addition to that, round-trip was the most frequently selected trip type with an average of 2,5 times more tickets sold compared to one-way trips. It also indicated an 11% increase in sales, while the share of one-way tickets went up by 25%. Thus, it shows that today’s air passengers are more comfortable making last-minute plans and prefer having more freedom and flexibility with their VFR or leisure travel decisions.

Meanwhile, United Airlines, Turkish Airlines, American Airlines, Philippines Airlines and Qatar Airways were the most commonly used air travel companies Trevolution Group’s customers gave preference to throughout 2023. However, Air China showed the most significant increase in global ticket sales, which again points to the country’s tourism sector recovery.

Airfare Ticket Type  Ticket Change 2023 vs. 2022
Economy Class  14%
Business Class  31%

Trip Type  Ticket Change 2023 vs. 2022
One Way  25%
Round Trip  11%

According to the latest sales data, the average advance purchase period last year was returning to the pre-pandemic levels when people would plan their travel longer ahead. Thus, in 2023, 17% of airline passengers booked their flights up to 10 days in advance, while 10% chose to do it 11-20 days ahead and 9% bought their airfare tickets up to a month in advance. While only one fourth of all travelers purchased airline tickets over three months in advance back in 2022, last year almost 30% of them chose to secure their flights 90 and more days ahead. A longer booking window indicates the returning travel confidence with people looking to secure their flights for a better price regardless of how far ahead in it might be. Meanwhile, the length of stay abroad has only increased by 4% in 2023 vs. 2022, with 29 days being the average period of time customers spend traveling.

In 2023, business class ticket prices went up by 10%, while economy class fares stayed relatively steady at around a thousand USD with no major changes. When it comes to purchasing auxiliary products and extra in-flight services such as Travel Care, Baggage Protection, Seat Assignment, Rental cars, Price Drop Guarantee, Fare Lock or Vacation Planner, this segment has increased by 22% in 2023 compared to 2022. This indicates the growing demand for comfort, affordable flight upgrades and additional travel products being available all at once when placing a booking.

“2023 for us was a year marked by growth and accomplishments – while still continuously increasing our business volumes, we have launched a new travel vertical, Dreamport, and have introduced NDC aggregated air travel services. Looking ahead, the promise of the upcoming year is equally compelling. One of the upcoming initiatives includes a travel app, which will consolidate all our travel products and services into one comprehensive ecosystem. We are also dedicated to extending the selection of travel products and will soon introduce a new innovative corporate travel vertical, Triplicity, to our portfolio,” Alex Weinstein, Founder of Dyninno Group of Companies, commented.

A New Digital Platform Launched to Unite Travel Entrepreneurs in Moldova

Dyninno, an international group of companies, that provides products and services in the travel, finance, entertainment and technology sectors in over 50 countries, announces to have launched Dreamport, a new online platform, in Moldova. Dreamport allows gig workers to get contracted as Independent Travel Managers, making freelancing in the travel industry accessible. The digital platform is developed as a comprehensive consolidating tool that allows independent travel managers to earn income fully remotely. It was first launched back in April across India and Uzbekistan, and since the beginning of September, it is also available for aspiring travel entrepreneurs in Moldova.

During the first six months of Dreamport’s launch, over 56,000 people from different parts of the world have signed up to use the platform as a source of everyday income. Balti and Orhei are the top Moldovan cities travel agents come from, while the United States, the Philippines, India and Nigeria are the most popular international destinations customers choose to fly to.

Dreamport is a fully digital platform meant to work as a tool that enables anyone, without being bound by geographical limitations, to be trained and contracted as an Independent Travel Manager and build a career in travel business. This innovative platform is set to transform the global travel market by offering a unique opportunity for motivated individuals to get expertise and earn income while servicing millions of travel industry customers entirely remotely. The main responsibilities of a travel manager include providing customers with information on travel routes and offering international airfare tickets, as well as auxiliary travel products.

The new platform offers an all-inclusive and free training program to individuals, including beginners, covering various topics from marketing, sales and customer service to travel industry standards and digital tools. Additionally, Dreamport provides customer leads to its travel managers to initiate sales. It also offers a user-friendly interface that guides agents through the process of creating and managing a travel business. Through Dreamport, users receive travel requests from Dyninno group’s travel services, such as ASAP Tickets and Skyluxtravel, and earn a commission on each sale. The platform’s highly competitive commission structure enables users to make a substantial income while performing services from anywhere across the country.

According to the Founder of Dyninno, Alex Weinstein, the company aspired to establish a platform that would offer opportunities to individuals worldwide. “Moldova is more than just a business location for me – it’s a connection to my roots, and I’m excited to create opportunities for the people of Moldova. Our leadership team, including myself, started the professional journey as travel agents and built their careers with us. With two decades in the travel industry, we firmly believe in the transformative force of giving back, as it not only improves the lives of those with limited earning opportunities but also reinforces our commitment to being a socially responsible entity that strives to make a positive impact on the world. And this time, I am particularly excited to introduce the launch of our new platform in Moldova,” says Weinstein.

Based on the latest statistics by The World Bank*, the unemployment rate in Moldova has been gradually decreased during the past 10 years reaching 2.3% in 2022. However, among young adults this number was more than twice as high in the same period reaching 13.2% in 2012 and dropping down to 8.1% last year**. Although the rate of unemployment among young adults is comparable to the average of other countries in the European Union, the risk of being unemployed is twice as high for young people as for adults. The lack of decent employment opportunities is a major push-factor for migration, particularly for youth from rural areas, where young adult unemployment is even higher than in urban areas.***

Dreamport platform is therefore made as a comprehensive tool to help tackle unemployment issues among young adults. With the rapid development of digital technologies and with remote work setting becoming more common across the globe, the travel manager’s job is a smart solution for those looking for more flexibility and independence on day-to-day basis. The only requirements for the platform application are thus a good level of English and a stable internet connection. No previous industry experience or education is required, as world-class training is provided to teach skills and knowledge in sales, communication, active listening, business acumen, discovery, curiosity, and collaboration.

Dreamport is accepting new applications for its Independent Travel Manager program. Interested individuals from anywhere in Moldova are invited to visit the Dreamport website to learn more about the program and sign up for free: https://www.dreamport.me/.

About

Dyninno Group, which operates International Travel Network, ASAP Tickets, Skyluxtravel, Dreamport and other travel brands, has established itself as the market leader in the travel business, specializing in the visiting friends and relatives’ segment. Over 730,000 unique airline tickets and vacation packages were sold by the group’s travel brands in 2022, making it the fifth-largest travel consolidator in the US.

The Philippines Emerges as the Leading Travel Market for Trevolution Group

Trevolution Group, the global travel industry leader operating Asaptickets, Skyluxtravel and other major travel brands, reports selling over 117,000 airline tickets to and from the Philippines in the first three quarters of 2023, thus indicating a stable 16% growth across the market compared to the same period last year. This amounted to nearly 183 million USD in gross bookings, or over 20% of the group’s total gross profit during the nine months.

Since commencing direct ticketing operations in the region in early 2023, the Philippines has become the top-performing market globally for Trevolution Group in both traditional leisure tourism and the emerging visiting-friends-and-relatives (VFR) segment.

Historically, it has ranked among the favored tourism spots for international leisure travelers, and presently, the surging demand for transpacific flights significantly surpasses pre-pandemic levels. Thus, in the first nine months of 2023, Trevolution Group has reported a significant 60% increase in outbound tourism from the Philippines, which indicates this market’s rapid recovery and growth. This year, from January to September, there has also been a 12% increase in inbound tourism compared to the same period last year. According to the Philippines Department of Tourism, a total of over 4 million foreign nationals and overseas Filipinos have arrived in the Philippines in the three quarters of 2023, which is close to the country’s target of welcoming 4.8 million visitors from abroad this year, and Trevolution Group’s businesses are a constant contributor to reaching this goal.

The Philippines is now in the state of full post-pandemic tourism recovery, and next to Manila, Cebu also plays a crucial role in regional development. Over the past years, Cebu has evolved into a thriving economic center and tourism hub, and it is one of the fastest developing cities in the Philippines. That is also reflected in Trevolution Group’s latest business results where during the past nine months Cebu contributed to 10.5% of the total flight tickets sold to and from the Philippines airports showing a 12.5% gross booking revenue increase compared to the three quarters of 2022. The Philippines Department of Tourism sees Cebu as one of the strongest driving forces for the economic development of the region in the upcoming years, and the emerging VFR segment is predicted to constitute a significant part of the travel business, especially across inbound tourism.

Class of Travel

The growing demand for international travel to and from the Philippines is also reflected in the substantial increase in sales across all cabin classes during the three quarters of this year. That resulted in a 59% growth in flights booked from the major airports across the Philippines in Economy and a high 79% growth in Business class compared to last year’s data for the same travel period. Meanwhile, the demand for inbound Economy tickets has increased by 11% and by 29% in Business class, which again indicates the notable return of the business travel. International businesses are growing, and the Philippines are becoming a major player in today’s global economy.

Based on Trevolution Group’s sales results, another cabin class that keeps showing a positive tendency among Filipino travelers is Premium Economy, thus indicating a growing demand for more affordable yet upgraded comfort. Additionally, majority or 90.5% of all tickets purchased to the Philippines were round-trip tickets compared to almost the same proportion or 91% in 2022. That is another indicator of the emerging VFR travel segment that is especially popular among 4.4 million Filipino Americans who have strong ties to the homeland and who are booking most round-trip tickets from the US to the Philippines.

Likewise, the share of one-way tickets has also stayed at nearly the same level and amounted to 9.5%, compared to 9% during the nine months last year. The proportion of outbound return tickets, however, is at only 42.5% in 2023 vs. 38.8% in 2022 indicating a minor growth which clearly highlights the ongoing return of global leisure travel with different destination airports.

Booking Window and Terms

Almost half or 48% of all global travelers flying to the Philippines in the first three quarters of 2023, purchased their tickets over three months prior to the departure date. This number has increased slightly since the last year when 43% of Trevolution Group’s passengers would book their flights over 90 days ahead. Such a pattern indicates that the travel industry has now finally recovered to a pre-pandemic state, and people feel more confident again in making their travel plans further in advance, especially when it comes to VFR travel. Thus, only 10% of all inbound flight tickets are purchased up to 10 days before the trip in 2023, compared to 9.5% in 2022.

Meanwhile, according to the Group’s ticket sales from the Philippines, air passengers tend to make more last-minute decisions and, therefore, only less than one quarter or 23.5% of all travelers secure their tickets over 90 days in advance, while 14.5% choose to do it up to 10 days in advance. Last year, however, the sales data showed a slightly different pattern, with more passengers (17.5%) making last-minute bookings and only 20% of them purchasing tickets over three months in advance.

In addition to that, the number of short-term bookings for up to 10 days from the Philippines has decreased in both 2023 and 2022, and the average length of stay abroad is now 61.9 days vs. 62.3 days in the same period last year. This indicates that travelers still tend to make up for the two pandemic years and thus feel more confident about spending more time abroad now that the industry has recovered, especially when visiting their friends and family or working remotely. Meanwhile, for travelers coming to the Philippines, this period is twice as low, with 33.6 days or an average of one calendar month in the first nine months period of 2023 compared to 37.7 days within the same 9-month timeframe last year, which is an average length of stay abroad for leisure travel.

Destinations

Following the last year’s pattern, the vast majority of visitors coming to the Philippines in the three quarters of 2023 originated from the United States, Canada and Japan, also adding Australia to this list and choosing Manila (76%) and Cebu (10%) as the main arrival airports. Similarly, the top five departure cities to the Philippines remained Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York, and Toronto, followed by Chicago, and most inbound passengers flew with Philippine Airlines, EVA Air and China Airlines following the global pattern where the most popular airlines listed are also the top carriers to the Philippines.

Meanwhile, majority of air travelers starting their journey from the Philippines in the three quarters of 2023 chose such popular global destinations as the United States, Canada, Japan and Singapore, as well as flew domestically within the country. Thus, Los Angeles, Toronto, San Francisco, New York and Vancouver remained the top destination cities, similarly to the corresponding period of 2022, with an average of 50% more tickets booked from January to September in 2023 and Philippine Airlines, EVA Air and United Airlines as the top three air carriers of choice. As the proportion of the America-based Filipino community is continuously growing, this pattern is heavily influenced by VFR tourism being one of the main reasons for these passengers frequently flying to the Philippines and back to North American cities, as well as vice versa instead of other global destinations.

“For many years, tourism has been an important sector of the Philippines economy, and we are proud to have Trevolution Group among the top global businesses contributing to the regional growth and supplying the demand for international travel. During the first three quarters of the year since launching direct ticketing operations in the Philippines, we have established a strong presence across the region highlighting the Philippines as our largest travel market across Asia and globally,” Alex Weinstein, the Founder of Dyninno Group commented.

Trevolution Group Reports Record Airfare Sales Results in the Indian Market

Trevolution Group, the global travel industry leader operating ASAP Tickets, Skyluxtravel, Dreamport and other major travel brands, has announced record sales for its travel operations across the Indian market during the three quarters of 2023. Reported business results indicate a solid 37% market growth compared to the same period last year highlighting India as one of the leading travel destinations for international airline passengers across the traditional leisure tourism, as well as the emerging visiting-friends-and-relatives (VFR) segment. Over 59,220 flight tickets have been sold to and from India’s main airports, resulting in almost 103 million USD in gross bookings or more than 11% of the overall company’s gross profit during the nine-month period.

India has historically been one of the most popular travel destinations for American passengers, and today the growing demand for transpacific flights is strongly exceeding pre-pandemic volumes. In the first nine months of 2023, Trevolution Group has reported a 22% increase in inbound tourism compared to the same period last year. This growth aligns with the country’s ongoing initiatives to strengthen its tourism sector. This year, from January to September, there has also been a significant 179% increase in outbound tourism from India, which indicates this market’s rapid recovery and growth. International businesses are expanding, and India is becoming a major player in today’s global economy.

The past summer has been the busiest travel period up to date, and the upcoming holiday season is predicted to show the same pattern with an even higher demand marking 2023 as the year of record boom across the Indian market.

Class of Travel

Travel from India has seen a substantial increase in sales across all major cabin classes during the first nine months of the year. That resulted in a high 193% growth in flights booked from India in Economy and a 139% growth in Business class compared to last year’s data. Meanwhile, the demand for inbound Economy tickets has increased by 17% and by 11% in Business class. Based on recent sales results, another cabin class that keeps showing a positive tendency among Indian travellers as well as globally is Premium Economy, thus indicating a growing demand for affordable and reliable comfort. The numbers of ticket class types sold most frequently signal the gradual return of business travel, also highlighting the emerging VFR segment that is especially popular among 4.4 million Indian Americans. Additionally, 83.5% of all tickets purchased to India were round-trip tickets, while the share of one-way tickets has stayed at nearly the same level and amounted to 16.5%, compared to 16% in 2022. The predominance of outbound return tickets, however, is slightly less distinct with a 41% share in 2023 and 29% last year indicating the gradual return of leisure tourism in this region.

Booking Window and Terms

Over one-third or 36% of all global travellers flying to India in the first nine months of 2023 purchased their tickets more than 90 days prior the departure date. Last year, however, this number was relatively lower with only 31% of airline passengers booking their flights over three months in advance. This indicates that the travel industry has now finally recovered, and the travel sales show an increasing pattern of people making their travel plans further ahead. Thus, only 15% of all inbound flight tickets are purchased up to 10 days before the trip. Meanwhile, according to ticket sales from India, passengers tend to do more last-minute decisions and, therefore, only less than one-sixth of all travellers buy their tickets over three months in advance while almost 16% choose to do it up to 10 days in advance. In addition to that, the number of short-term bookings for up to 10 days from India has decreased in both 2023 and 2022, and the average length of stay abroad is now 97 days vs. 89 days in the same period last year. This shows another trend, indicating that people still want to make up for the two pandemic years and thus tend to spend more time abroad, especially when vising their friends and family. Meanwhile, for travellers coming to India, this period is three times lower with 32 days in the first nine months of the year compared to 33 days in the same timeframe last year, which is an average length of stay abroad for international leisure travel.

Destinations

According to Trevolution Group recent sales data, the majority of foreign visitors coming to India in the first nine months of 2023 originated from the United States, Canada, as well as the United Kingdom and the UAE following the last year’s pattern and choosing Mumbai and Delhi as the main arrival airports. Similarly, the top five departure cities to India remained New York, San Francisco and Chicago, followed by Los Angeles and Dallas with Air India, Qatar Airways and Turkish Airlines being the most popular carriers. Meanwhile, the majority of travellers starting their journey in India flew to destinations including the United States, Canada, the UAE, the United Kingdom, and within the country. Thus, New York, San Francisco, Chicago, Dallas as Washington remained the top destination cities just like in the same corresponding period of 2022 with Emirates Airlines, Air India and Turkish Airlines as the top three air carriers. That again is heavily influenced by VFR tourism, which is one of the main reasons for Indian passengers frequently flying to North America instead of other global destinations. Indian diaspora in the US is growing and these people have strong ties with India. Likewise, this trend is also directly linked to Trevolution Group launching ticketing operations in the UK at the beginning of 2023, where a large portion of the population is of Indian descent.

“India’s growing economy and expanding international business relations are fuelling a rising demand for global travel. The three quarters of 2023 have proven a strong increase in international travel between Asia and other regions. Our strategic partnerships, such as the one with Air India, are a key driver of this success; with Air India now serving three major Indian airports from San Francisco – Mumbai, Delhi, and Bangalore – we’re witnessing a growing demand for our services among both our loyal customer base as well as new clients. The strong revenue growth is a testament to our continued focus on supplying the demand, growing capacity, introducing innovations and securing positions in this robust market,” Alex Weinstein, the Founder of Dyninno Group commented.

Trevolution Group Introduces NDC Aggregated Air Travel Services

Trevolution Group, the global market leader operating Asaptickets Skyluxtravel, Dreamport and other travel brands, has announced implementing New Distribution Capabilities (NDC) in its airline ticket distribution as of September 2023. By partnering with AirGateway, a world-leading NDC aggregator, by the end of the month, Trevolution Group will offer its customers instant access to customized travel content of over 15 global airlines, including several major carriers such as Lufthansa Group, United Airlines, Emirates, Finnair, Air France-KLM, American Airlines, British Airways, Iberia and others.

As the travel industry continues to evolve and adapt to the needs of customers around the globe, NDC has recently emerged as an ultimate game-changer. It is an improved industry standard, developed by the International Air Transport Association (IATA), to facilitate a direct exchange of data between the leading industry players, thus transforming the way air products are retailed to corporations, leisure and business travelers. Meanwhile, NDC aggregator is essentially a third-party technology provider that serves as a centralized platform between airlines and travel agencies to provide instant connections to multiple airlines’ NDC contents, such as flight inventory, supplementary services, and pricing, including those options that may not be available through traditional distribution channels.

Another advantage of introducing NDC is the ability to offer a transparent shopping experience with customized offers and personalization. Thus, Trevolution Group travel brands can now leverage the data to better understand traveler preferences and offer tailored travel packages that are unique to each customer based on their travel history, preferences, behavior, and airline loyalty details, making the booking experience more convenient and effortless. Likewise, the NDC technology allows airlines to return these personalized offers, apply discounts based on loyalty status, or provide alternative payment options such as miles.

While the traditionally used global distribution system (GDS) model only permits airlines to display prices and schedules, the NDC standard provides real-time information. As Trevolution Group moves forward with the new integration, a full range of NDC services will be introduced and offered to its customers in the upcoming months. As a result, air travelers will benefit from real-time updates and seamless integration to make instant alterations to their bookings, from seat upgrades to itinerary changes, without having to wait for confirmation from the airline. Additionally, the implementation of NDC will provide instant flight updates, ensuring that customers are always aware of any changes to their travel plans. Airlines will thus send passengers direct alerts about flight delays or gate changes, offer upgrade options, or notify customers about in-flight services and amenities.

“After signing the partnership agreement with AirGateway, Trevolution Group travel brands can get quick and easy access to full range of fares and ancillary products from multiple airlines at once with just a single integration. This means that we are able to provide our customers the very best flight options that suit their preferences and budget, regardless of where in the world they are flying to. By the end of the year, we expect to sell over 20 thousand airline tickets via NDC, while during 2024 our goal is to reach 150 thousand ticket sales. And although it requires significant infrastructure investment, we are ready to invest in the future,” Peter Vazan, EVP of Industry Relations at Trevolution Group comments.
